I have fitted my $50 new magnum winch 9000lb that i won on here in the raffle :)
and fitted the soloniod from tigerz11.
Oh half your luck dullbird!
If you've got a Warn box, the tigerz11 solinoids will mount into them and the case is designed to be able to be hoseclamped to the motor. Likewise, if its any good to you, I've also got a new Tigerz11 solinoid box and hand controller which you can have if its any good to you. I've pulled the guts out of it and fitted the solinoid and wireless to my Warn solinoid box, so its just gathering dust.
thanks slunnie, but no need we are not using the box...that was the whole reason for getting the solid state, we have enough with the lights in front of the grill, we wanted to avoid putting the box up there to....we have extended the wires and going to put the hand controller socket up near the front somewhere and a possible switch in the cab (we had decided to do it this way but now rethinking the switch in the cab)
No probs Dullbird.
Can I make a suggestion with it......
The Tigerz11 controller is a 3 pin controller and really really easy to tamper with and hotwire. I would highly recommend that you set up the solinoid as a either a 5 pin controller like the Warn or interupt the solinoid earth by switching it in the cab. The extra 2 pins in the Warn connect the solinoid earth only while winching, and if anybody tries to hotwire it, there is a really good chance that they will blow the wire they are using to hotwire it.
I wasn't saying fitting a bar was hard... apart from the bit that goes..."can you just hold it there while I get this bolt in"
Any suggestions on where to - politely - stick the solenoid box for a Warn? Had a look under the bonnet and gave up on that idea.
well they have to find the solonoid first to tamper with it;).....the winch is also having a battery cut off fitted..... which obvioulsy is in the cab as that is where the battery box is.
we are going to be using the magnum controller....and that does have the 5 pins, but not sure how to set up the five with only the 3 screw down points on the soloniod:(
Thats no problems. This is how I would do it, and you can use just a small indash cutout switch rather than a big mumma switch. If the indash switch shorts, it just means that the winch becomes active, though any tamperer will still have to risk shorting it all out and get melted.
