Al have the slide lock AND I also ratchet strap the fridge down as well! Belt and braces maybe, but it has not moved, OK have to tighten up ratchet strap occassionally. Would be relunctant just to rely on one of them

Engel is situated behimd the drivers seat in my 110 going length ways into 110 so it is accessible from doorway. It is mounted on ali plate. Underneath that is my 70 litre water tank. When get my 110 back, the water tank will come out and the hi lift jack/ground anchor etc will reside under the ali plate.

In the rear I have the MSS box and roller unit in the load bed like you. Left hand wheel arch there are the stacking MSS boxes. MSS does great kit

I made a angle frame that bolts in place of the single side of the split rear seat. Front has legs that bolt to the existing seat mount and back bolts to the little shelf on rear wheel arches. Ply board drops into angle frame and fridge sits lengthways between cargo barrier and front seat. Engel fridge is strapped down to frame. Works a treat. Easy access via back door and rear two seats still usable. Safe and secure. Only down side is front seat cant move or tilt back too far but other half never complained about this even on our round Australia trip.

I have mine mounted on top of the roller drawer at the Left hand side at the rear. It is not all the way up to the side window, as the lid would hit the plastic protrusion where the side attached to the roof. It is about 150mm from the side, which is perfect space for 3 collapsible camp chairs to fit between it and the window. With it partially in the rear door area, it is easy access from the rear step. I used a piece of 19mm HMR particle board with 4 retractable tie down loops countersunk into it. I screwed it down to the roller drawers, and tie the fridge with sash cord to them. When the loops are in the up position, they help hold the fridge in place also. I also loop a bicycle chain and lock through one of the loops, and around the handle to make it a little less opportunistic of a target to take.:mad:

When I had 110's previously, I made up a two piece floor - first bit between the rear wheel arches, and a second which filled in the rear seat after you whipped them out (and the seat belt fittings). This gave me a platform for the fridge, (easily reachable when behind the front pax seat), but also a base for a double foam mattress....ah luxury.

This wasn't permanent so I could revert to five seater etc etc.

And on one of my solo cross nullarbor trips, I have even set up a platform on the front seat for the fridge, and kept the seat squab in the back (great picnic cushion too).

I've got the slide lock and I've never needed to ratchet it down.

However I will say that it's worth putting some thread lock on the bolts holding the feet in place.

As I'm not in to carting arround passengers..I ripped out the single back seat and made a mount for the engel in its place inturn freeing up more storage space in the rear.
Advantages it can be reached from the drivers seat or open rear passenger door for access.
