That wouldn't cure the problem. Dealers are the middle men or women that are out for short term profit. Sorry, but the dealers do not sell enough of these to honestly care. Those that are sold appear to be an after sales [cost nightmare] migrane for them, rather than downstream revenue. Tata is too far to care...otherwise, there would be voluntary recalls. Lets face it, if they haven't fixed the same problems by now, they most likely never will.
Why should the issues be compiled and noted after how many editions of this same vehicle have hit the market? LR should drop the price.
I think it is an excellent opportunity for a new business to flourish. Someone should set up a business that deals with Defender Post Production issues. The sole purpose should be to fix permanently what Tata, Ford, LR, and the Dealers have been unable to do... and charge another premium to do it.
Perhaps it can be a coop venture started from this AULRO membership? Nobody has the know-how that exists on this website. Not even the dealers. One way could be to buy out a small mechanical workshop and a body shop and start tending to out of warranty problems. I have planted the seed.... go forth and water it....
