Below are a couple of photos of a 200 TDI defender that I rolled on the Pacific Hwy Hornsby. I would have been lucky to have been doing 60KPH.
I had just come off the freeway driving from Coff's Harbour sitting on 100KPH. If the accident had happened on the freeway I'm not sure I would be typing this:angel:
You will see from the photo of the 110 on its side (roof shot) the cargo barrier wore through the roof just near the Alpine window (road). I think it did its jopb.
The police recon I picked up a nail from a previous truck spillage and when I rounded the courner the tyre was deflating and then flipped.

Hi RR, There's more information on this thread from Craig and myself: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/90-110-130...rier-puma.html
It will all depend on your vehicle, though the most recent feedback I had from a recent UK install was it went in without an issue. Interestingly their's had the bolt and plate kit as 2 shrink wrapped cards where as Craig and I only had a single card with all the parts. I suspect LR may have made a couple of mod's. My biggest issue was that I had to re-tap two of the mounting holes above the C-pillar and get new bolts as the thread stripped undoing the bolts:mad:
Hi, I just bought a pre-Puma Milford Carrier for my 08 Puma. Reading the notes below got me a bit concerned (i.e. the position of seat clips and sloped wheel arch). Although correct me if I'm wrong, if you remove the seat clip plastic surround (not too sure why it is there anyway) and offset the base of the carrier by 60mm towards the rear of the vehicle (i.e. so that the Milford barrier base sits up against the seat clips), making Milfords installation measurement 930mm, instead of 990mm seems to be ok. I checked under the vehicle and the hole position seems fine too.
The top mount would remain in the same location... need to check again.
With the sloped wheel arch I can't see the issue, except for a bit of a gap??
What you say makes sense. You may find the top mounts are stressed a little with the 60mm move back at the base. There certainly isn't an issue with the different shaped sides the issue is with both the seat (and head rests) and the locking mechanism. If you are correct and the plastic shroud on the seat clamps is just cosmetic then that may well take care of that issue (I never considered that). I suspect that the bigger problem will come from the rear seat itself. The seat back is considerably different and the centre seat has the belt reel at the top as well as the head rest. The seats are also thicker and whilst I haven't checked against my Tdi I suspect they protrude further back into the load area.
I'll try and photograph the installation and if I manage to get it working I post it on the forum... cheers
:)
Please do and good luck with the installation!
