Mine's in a carport - gets very cold at our place. I warm the engine for 3-4 minutes before driving. I then take it very easy until the temp gauge comes up. I have non of the symptoms you describe.
I hope you can sort this issue out, dullbird. As I mentioned before - if LRA are unable to fix it - maybe someone competent can - like Graeme Cooper.

She had the stutters (sounded like teeth chattering) once on a cold morning about 200 m from home.... loss of power and the engine light came on and then after about 20 seconds she returned to normal apart from the engine light. Two fuel sensors were replaced (pressure and mixture if I recall correctly). No recurrence since....wood touched.

mahn this is exactly how ours started and has gotten progressively worse we have had the common rail pressure valve changed twice I think, injectors done and some other sensor done and various other things....every time something gets changed it goes away for a short while then comes back...we haven't had it for a while but as soon as the cold weather came back BANG it's back again......Quote:

I think so. Perhaps we should all roll up to the dealers at the same time, same station and let them know how bad things are. My son is in Subaru parts supply in WA and is in disbelief at what I have as warrenty. My daughter in-law is driving a bomb Subaru Outback that has done 29000 kms and drives better than my SVX at 6500km. Its a very disheartening situation. With all the extras that my wife and I have put on this vehicle we have spent $95000. Its wrong!

Mine's always outside in a drive way and occasionally out front on the street if we've moved cars around and I haven't put it back.
Overnight minimums are currently 8-9 degrees where I live in Adelaide.
I usually crank the Puma over about 7:30am each day when its pretty close to the minimum temp.
Start it up, drive it off...no warm up. Although I never go above 2500rpm and usually only reach that when changing from 1st to 2nd.
Hums along most of the time at 2000 or below.
However I did read in the manual yesterday that you are supposed to wait until the glow plug light goes off before cranking so I have started doing that now although I never did in the Td5.
