ABS faults light defender,, why oh why

hi Guys, after an overhaul of my front wheel bearings/seals etc, the dreaded abs/traction faults lights have reared there ugly heads. During the overhaul I had both the wheel sensors out but treated them like eggshells and fitted them back in and thought all would be good. So the first time I drove it the traction control came on straight away and faulted both the abs and traction.
So off to romsy land rover and found my l/h wheel sensor was faulty so refitted and good second hand item, traction light went out but abs still up, checked out again still no good then found that the shuttle valve switch fault code was up.

I have read plenty of problems associated with the D2 but has anyone had this fault on a defender, are they the same ABS modulator?
and has anyone had to pull out the modulator out of a defender what is the best way to do it, not alot of room to work in that spot.

I am trying to figure out if anything I did with the front end overhaul has caused this, maybe the brakes need a power bleed through the ABS pump I did them the old fashion way thought that would be ok.

 Any help would be appreciated

 cheers Matt

Were they clean when you refitted them and pushed all the way in?.Have you done the swivels right as any movement will cause this fault. Pat

					yep exactly what pat said^^^!
the tiniest bit of metal filing will cause the sensor to log a fault, ide guess that they arnt pushed in all the way...

push them down,by hand till they stop, then with a flat screwdriver bring them back up about 2mm.

 cheers phil

yep swivels are all good no movement in the kinpins or the wheel bearings, after the abs went into fault I pulled both the sensors out and cleaned them the one that faulted was covered in grease. They are both clean now and not faulting but the shuttle valve fault is up still
