I need to find a better supplier of tyres!:o:)
I did a quick ring around this morning. Prices have risen a lot since I was looking 6 mths ago.
In 255/85 STs are $321, BFG KM2 are $350, Bighorns are $300.
At those prices I might have to reconsider going back to a 235/85 in something like a Yoky Geo12 at $260.
Try Ryano at Fourbys moorooka. Most of the outerlimits guys use him and his prices are pretty hard to beat. Just tell him you are an OL member.
I have 255/85 Bighorns. Very happy. I did 15000 km on them over 3 weeks in January (perth - adl - melb - tas - syd - per). They wore a fair bit but still have at least 70% tread. I ahve done 20-25k km on them in total. They have good grip on and off road, however I have managed to stake 1 and puncture another - so IME not quite as tough as an MTR.
thanks Ben. Tried Fourby's. No better on price.
No it wasn't Ryan, he wasn't around. The bloke said it didn't matter who quoted price.
I ran BFG AT's 255/85/16 on sunraysia rims, I had nothing but trouble with them rolling off as soon as I got below 20psi, and my fair share of pierced sidewalls in rocky/woody country i changed too cooper STT's (LT version) and they where nothing short of excellent in both hilly/rocky country and on the beach. Also travelled 10,000K's on a Simpson trip without incident.
