I have a '94 110 and a '95 130. I'll whip out my (non-vented) verniers tonight ;).
It's funny - I had the 130 steam cleaned this morning and the Irishman that did it was telling me that I had a (literally) bomb proof rear diff. He said they fitted them to the British military vehicles but he'd never seen one on a civilian vehicle. First I'd heard of it.

You're right Rick - both 110 and 130 axle tubes measured at exactly 80mm. I was in the dark with a torch (damn short winter days) but I did manage to find what looks like a part number stamped in the top of the radius arm mount/bracket on both sides on both vehicles and it was the same - 08HA066076. Visually they look the same also.
On the subject of the apparent bomb proof diff, my Irish steam cleaner was saying that they are "squarer" and was pointing to the thick half inch-ish - 15mm solid section that goes around the centre where the back cover bolts on. He said standard civilian ones look like the front axles/diffs that are on both of my Tdi's - more rounded.
I don't want to start a rumour here because I really don't think he quite knew. They just look like standard Salisbury diffs to me. Maybe he was comparing them to Series diffs.
I think he is referring to the British military getting Salisbury diffs on 2A LWBs before the civilian ones did.

OK, today i went a spoke to Fred Smith about this...
The ID is smaller, hence the thicker tube...
6mm on the 110 and 8mm wall thickness on the 130...
I'll take a pic and post it...
He has a diff sample from when he fits maxi drives...
Now, what about the front?:D

I have 2 110 salisburys, but they are still in cars. It makes sence now that i have to push the grapes back in whenever i carry the 130 diff from one spot to another.
Would this mean that a 130 front housing is also 8mm wall? The front one in my county is out of a 130 so i cant measure it without pulling it apart.
