This is what i did. Becuase sunraysia does't do a wheel for land rover that i could find localy the only other i coud find in australia was King wheels. So i gave them a call said i wanted to put 285/75's on he said wasn't to sure if they would rub or what ever. So 15 mins later call me back saying they would fit and not rub. King wheel is a 0 offset, i changed my mind on the 285's and went 265 just so if i'm out bush and stuff a few at least i can find another one. My rims are 16x8's to fit the 285's but doesn't matter 265 look good on them. Tyre was a bit harder, but chose the micky t's MTZ. brother in law pretty into 4bing and thinks they are the ducks nuts compared to the 6-7 others he had tried.
 Hope that helps....

Ive finally got the rims and tyres together. I went with the Maxxis 255/85/16 big horns. wow its a big tyre!! they are on standard disco 1 steel rims and there seems to be clearance to the spring tower at the rear. the front may actually be more problimatic. I have not had it off road at any kind of articulation yet so time will tell. i had to adjust the lock stops on the front to stop the tyre rubbing on the radius(I think) arms so I really dont have any turing circle now;)
The tyres are really quite quiet for muds and the road holding seems pretty good aswell, again time will tell on this decision.
