    Roof lining

The lining in Rustic is on the way out and I just wonder if any member have used marine carpet and bonded it to replacing the lining instead of fitting again the common used lining material
    Inputs will be appreciated.

I've just had marine carpet (or similar) fitted directly to the roof of my 110. The original linig was sagged, and had a large hole cut in it by the previous owner for a spotlight handle. I want to fit a centre roof console, so figured the easiest option was to do away with the original lining altogether. This gives me a bit more height, and I can easily see the pillars for mounting.

I got the vehicle back on Friday, and I was quite impressed with the finish. I only replaced the section above the driver/front passenger, but after seeing how good I reckon it looks, I'm considering doing the whole roof.

All up, the young guy who did it charged me $100, which I think was very reasonable. The only slight issue I have is the carpet is a bit furrier than I hoped, but all in all, no complaints. I'll take a photo tomorrow for you.

Thanks mate for the input, I just wonder which kind of glue they are using.
I like the Silka products but I do not know if it will be ok when the roof is hot.
Perhaps the best idea is to send a email to silka and ask them if any of their products are suitable.

Is there any member who knows which kind of underlayer/support have the interior lining on the Defenders roof?

I like to know if I can bond marine carpet on it or not.

    Cheers

I'll find out when I go back down to pick up some material for the console.
