Yeah thats why I want steels. No point replacing them with alloys so that next time im in the sticks ill have no alternative, like this time. Good thing I didnt get a blowout or something

At least with a steel one you can at least TRY to fix - FBH, welder etc

More importantly where can one get steel sunraysias in Brissie (I need some for my 130 as well), should I get 8" or 7" ones (is there even a choice) and what offset (again, if there is a choice). Oh and an ida of $ would be handy as well.

go 16x8 so you have better choice of tyre, but that will probobly rule out 235s, 255-85s sit pretty good on a 16x8, for offset go 0 offset or -25 if you really want some width.

er what speed were you doin?

My sisters jeep did a similar thing to one of the rims doing around 60-70kph dropping into a wash out

we were cruising nicely along the beach at around 55-60ish, minus breaking i rekon it was like hitting one of those taller square gutters square on

Come over and chuck my rims and tyres on to see what they look like.

Here are a few I took just now. The steering arm looks worse than the photos

Hard to show but if you look closely enough, the left front side steering tie rod end housing thingy has actually shaved off the bent part of the rim - and I only drove it from the site about 25m to better sand so I could change it.

anyone after 3 good LR alloys, 1 bad one and 1 ruined one??
A mate seems to think they are semi repairable... any ideas?

Interested to know what speed you were travelling when you belted that washout?Experience has taught me over many years of sandriving that 60kph is the only safe speed as washouts come up on you quickly for they can be out of your line of vision. Better to arrive in one piece later then earlier in pieces.
