Stig - it is great to get the warm and fuzzy feeling of owning something that other people want. However, remember if you sell the Defender it will no longer be yours. Think about that.;)
No longer will you have strangers approach you to buy your vehicle and no longer will you get that sense of satisfaction from owning the Defender.
Stig, your posts over a period of time show pride of ownership in your Defender. Stig, I don't believe you want to sell it.
Just be careful you don't make the mistake of getting caught up in the emotion of strangers approaching you to buy it etc. That is not a good enough reason to sell.
Haha when did you tame me buddy? who couldnt even drive out of the flex holes on the beach hey... weak mate weak.
For all those who say a Defender is more comfortable, i think that for me, being about 6ft4" tall, the Disco is far more comfortable, especially the back seats... and also having ace is nice, something that the defender doesn't have, and i know is a reason why stig wanted to get into a disco. Our family has owned both defenders and discovery's and never have i heard that a defender is more comfortable than a defender, you might say the seats are better, but that probably comes down to age of the seats. I know that my old D1 had a stuffed seat, but i got it fixed up and it was fine, so really that's not something that you can use to compare a fender to a disco. I think that disco's are far more ergonomically comfortable than defender's, and a hell of alot of people that i know who own them and have been in them agree with me on this.

Had a V8 110, didn't use it off road for a while, decided to go for a Disco for the comfort. BIG mistake! Put up with it for 9 months, lost $4,000 over that time, (110 lost $1,500 over 7 years!) got rid of the bloody thing and got the Defender. I know I won't make that same mistake again, Defender all the way................
not me and I'm 6ft....but I never said I liked the driving position just the seats :D
i have got to admit,, the fender seats ant that bad, there deffnetly not a vouge seat but iv driven road cars that are alot worse then the old defender seats;)
i think the best allround is the sport seats,,, love them, and the way the dash is set up ,, ima own one of them one day:angel:
but for now,, it stands at im going to keep the fender for a bit yet, you just cant bet that "defender ishness" about them ,,, all the people who own one will no what i mean:cool:
and the fact that the defender is the car people want if they like landorvers, if they dont own one they will tell you a rangie or disco is better,, but deep down they want a fender, they just wont tell you:cool::D even tojo drivers to i bet, thats why they bag land rovers so much is cos they dont have one :)
I don't know what Ron would make of "defender ishness" or for that matter what the hell does Dobbo make of it:o:o
But mate, for a bloke that loves Defender's and can't spell I reckon you have come up with the quote of 2009:eek::eek:
I reckon "defender ishness" just about sums it up for all of us Defender Ishness fans:D:D:D
Stig, as you well know and indeed said, only a Defender owner would understand;)
Glad to hear you are not selling;):D
