No, not really. A friend that is also on the forum (Search for Werner) bought his 05 Defender in SA and also had to take it over the pits. Find him on the member list and PM him to see if there is anything that gave him trouble.
Hope you get your 90 soon and looking forward to see you out on the next trip.

It depends who you get on the day. Some guys are picky and want to make your life hell, but most are just fine. If you are polite and helpful you'll get further than being belligerent.
If the car looks in good nick and well cared for it'll probably only get a cursory going over, and as long as the engine/chassis number match up you'll be on your way.

BTW - I wouldn't worry about the exhaust at all unless it is obviously loud. My 90 doesn't even have a central/main muffler and it's quiet as a baby :)
Thanks guys, One more thing... The seller couldn't find the paper receipt from his rego. I have a signed contract of sale/purchase that has all the vehicle details on it. Is that what they will check the engine/VIN numbers with. From what i have read that is all i need as proof of ownership.Quote:

One more thing - did you do a "REVS" check before you paid for it to make sure it was not under finance? If you bought it from a dealer, ignore this, as you always get clear title when buying from a dealer.
* "REVS" might not be the right name of the system in QLD, but they will have something similar to check if the vehicle is under finance/stat writeoff/etc. Costs about $15 for a certificate in NSW and guarantees clear title if done on the day of purchase.
Yes - REVS is the name in QLD. I thought it just guaranteed the car could not be repossessed if done on day of purchase???Quote:
