I am also considering removing my Aircon unit as it doesn't work and I wouldn't use it anyway. It will also save wieght and give me more room in the engine bay.
I am assuming your engine runs no worries with the aircon/heater out? Also is it possible to keep the heater working if I remove the aircon plumbing or are they integrated?

well they are sort of integrated, only in the air outlets, i just ripped it all out but i think it will work ok after the aircon is removed.
