We had vehicles overtaking roadtrains have the VMS cut in and drop the speed to 80 half way along them or vehicles shut down because they were driven for 2 hours without stopping leaving people stranded in the middle of bugger all, thats safety all right. Pat

I'm supprised how easily mine gets to the limiter. Pat

My 09 Puma just clicked over 62k with no major dramas.

Got a list of crappy little warranty items to be fixed longer than my arm (dicky door lock solenoid, rattley gear knob, etc) and the egr is getting a bit squeaky, but that's it.

    Thread resurrection!!!

2012 90 - just done 100,000km. No engine issues, only a split hose and rattly clutch plate to date.

82000 few clutches (seem to have that sorted now), rear diff pinion bearing, transfer case shims, and I replaced the injector sealing copper washers.

Since upgrading the rear axles I've stopped worrying about the driveline noises and play only get slack and rough gear changes when offroad Cdl is engaged ( I believe this is generally pretty normal with defenders due to the transmission windup with shafts locked together ?? Am I right)

I'm pretty happy with the 2.4 it's so good offroad compared to other 4x4s I've had, but you do have to keep on top of things

Mines passed 130,000km's,the only engine problem it's had was the egr being stuck open but it's fixed itself and does the chukka chukka with gusto once again. Pat

Wow 72k that feels a long time ago, 6.5 yrs old 185k now, still going strong. EGR is knackered but have a map to keep it closed, bit of black smoke as I have a split in the intercooler, Allisport are sending a replacement even though it is 6 yrs old, now that is service!
