How many of those batteries would you need to compete with a tesla 100kwh battery pack?
The 45 x 200ah cells I have fitted in my Landy = 3.2v x 45 = 144V x 200Ah = 28.8kwh . = 250kg
Hypothetically, 28.8 x 3.5 = 100.8kwh = ~ 157 cells @ $200 each = $31.700 = 875kg , 100kwh would give my Landy 280km range , not taking the extra 625kg into account , but would certainly take me over GVM.
(Tesla batteries have denser power per weight & about half the price. )
It would be much cheaper to buy individual Tesla style 18650 cells and make holders / brackets enclosures for them, spot weld the connectors / but my minor form of ADD I could not bear the thought of assembling around 3000 cells .
Pretty sure the telsla cars have around 7000 cells in them. I am currently disassembling charging and discharging around 1500 used 18650 cells to build my own Powerwall for the house. I am promise you it's not an exciting project after the first few hundred.....
I think the only thing cooler than this build would be an EV 101.
