    Regenerative Braking

Simple Demo . I had no idea it was putting more than 200Amps in during gentle braking , (I cant really see the screen and drive safe at the same time)

All the braking here is regen, only time service brakes are used it to come to a full stop in the parking bay.

I made an A-Frame , connects to Helicopter lifting points .

I'll tow the Landy in regen mode with the Iveco & see how long it takes to put any meaningful charge back into the battery pack. It will be interesting to note if there is any increase in fuel consumption of the truck.

I Figure you'll notice about an extra 6l/100 on top of what you would normally see just towing the landy while it was not regen braking, with the battery pack near flat tapering off to about 1l/100 once the charge is up near 90%.

Yeah, thats a pretty good call, Bk .

I usually get about 18.5L/100km , Towing the Landy today was pulling 25L/100km , Literally was like towing with the brakes on , - I suppose it is .

This is a 3 min clip from total, at the start of towing I had 54% State of Charge, after 15 mins was 78% SOC .

    was that 100% regen setting?

with whats in the vids in theory you should be able to go from about 5% to 95 in less than an hour.

not sure how the batteries would like it though.

No not 100% regen , it was about 50% in that clip. I didn't like the idea of a wheel skidding on the verge as I pulled over or that much negative torque through my diff ?

The Batteries are rated at 200Amp x 3C so can be charged at up to 600Amps . Anything over that & my 600Amp main fuse might put a halt to the proceedings.

A question(just out of curiosity) .. say on a long steep(or even moderate) descent, does the regen activate, and could you somehow (say) set it up where it would maintain a steady speed, automatically?

I've lost my redneck conversion chart, is that the wad of tinfoil, roofing nail folded in 2 or the .22 round?
