Depends on whether you mean succeed in the sense of "produce meaningful vehicles", or succeed in the sense of "buy the directors new houses with the government renewable energy subsidies" ?

BYD, Volvo, VW... Toyota and Hyundai seem to be the ones to watch. My quirky MG is now back doing its WLTP range at is promised. Laughed when I found out WLTP does not have heating or cooling systems on at all. Just turning mine on sees the range drop by a lot despite set at lowest fan and right in the middle of the COOL- HOT range assuming that is about neutral It was the software. An update they told me they had applied to fix a known bug in one version was not added until recently. That fixed and I am very happy with the almost free driving and almost no maintenance cost.

I am still waiting for a Disco Refit or replacement option

Saic is not in that list? Guess it is not a start up like VW....

One for the kids from SAIC that make MG and others. Interesting to note they are the largest exporter of cars from China bar none. Target of 550,000 exported this year must make Mr Musk go a little red in the face.

He did seem to get 499,550 for the year last year but SAIC number is export only. They are the biggest in China with a year to date total cars or other vehicles of an eye watering 3,103,239
Saic reports a JV with VW in that number

No Disco replacement alas The kids and fast movers might like this one

My Honda CBR (RIP) boo hoo took almost 4 seconds to get to 100kph. The MG Cyberster 3 second ish 0 to 100kph might cause whip lash for some older or midlife crisis types. I like my disco in Low range

    Psst- want a cheap EV?

Evergrande NEV said it has suspended paying some of its operating expenses and some suppliers have suspended work. The cashflow difficulties mean the carmaker that once had ambitions to take on Elon Musk’s Tesla Inc in the electric-vehicles industry will now likely miss its target to start mass deliveries next year.
Shares of the electric car unit slid to as low as 1.66 Hong Kong dollars ($0.21) in early trade before paring losses to fall 2.2 percent. The company has shed more than $84bn in market cap from its peak in April when it was valued at more than Ford Motor Co. Link

Suspect the plans might have gone up in smoke.

    China’s $87 Billion Electric-Car Giant Hasn’t Sold a Vehicle Yet

Bloomberg News 19 April 2021, 7:00 am AEST Updated on 19 April 2021, 6:16 pm AEST

OMG 87 billion and not a car sold? I might skip this brand
