Do I need an inline fuse between solar controller and battery?

Controller is 10amp and linked to main (and only for present) battery. Do I need to add an inline fuse?

Definitely. I had a controller go short and the battery provided the current to burn the insulation on the wiring to the controller. It wasn't my install but was fortunate not to burn the caravan down.
