There are heaps of jeeps where i live, havn't seen a broken one yet.Having said that neighbours up the road bought a new one,had it about 2 months and got rid of it.Nothing but trouble. They are cheap though, maybe why there is a lot of them around now.

My work truck is a Grand Cherokee..

2 yrs old, hasn't missed a beat. Word on the street is though warranty claims are an issue, more than LRA I think, and bits are expensive.

Drives nicely, rides well, steers quite neutrally, mostly Mercedes underneath with a top of the class Fiat diesel. Mines got spongy brakes though.

It is a cheap car, cheaply built. But for the price you can't knock it.

Oh, and the front air dam is removable by design. It's supposed to be taken off in the rough stuff.

 Max P

my partners parents have a TD Grand Cherokee, part from the auto being horrible when left in auto and the flimsy sheet metal, they are not a horrible 4x4wagonthing, pretty good motor, tows cars on rented car carries fairly effortlessly.

If you change the word 'Jeep' in every post and replace it with 'Land Rover' this would look just like a dozens of threads running on any Toynissmo forum.

We complain about getting bagged out all the time for owning Land Rovers, but we're just as bitchy as everyone else. :D

I have no problem with Grand Cherokees.

Last year a chap I know bought one - and gave me his registered P38A (which I've had to store as my wife won't let me bring it home).

I like a couple of jeep models but the breakdowns and recall list is rapidly out stripping that of LR .

My neighbour won't be told anything.

Think it's got something to do with his nationality.

SWMBO took one for a drive recently when se was considering a replacement for the Wrangler. They ware a nice enough ting but are still too small for our needs when compared with a D3.
We got all the horror stories when we bought the wrangler as well. It is definitely an enthusiast vehicle like a Land Rover in that it isn't a featureless piece of whitegoods but it has been more reliable and cheaper to fix than the D3 over the 4 years that we've owned it.
