Cargo capacity is lower, much lower, ( under 500kg for auto td) but if your buying new AFAIK it's cheaper to get the gvm engineered increased before first rego than after.
Go here , lurk and ask them, they helped when my father decided to by a grand cherokee. www.ausjeepoffroad.com
Yes I will go to the Jeep forums too I just wanted the thoughts of non Jeep enthusiasts too. My thinking here was if someone here has got a Jeep, along with owning the best 4x4 in the world (Land Rover) then that has to be the best test possible of what the Jeep are like are like to own.

I registered early this morning and my account still has not been moderated so to be honest I have given up trying to post on the Jeep forum, very annoying..

To be honest if it were me I would never bother with the forum again (Jeep) as it has been 12 hours and I still cant post, but the missus is bugging me asking if I have asked her questions as this long wait normal for the Jeep forum?
I have never had so many issues posting on a forum.

*WARNING* I have something good to say about a Jeep.

Wranglers are a good machine... anyone that disagrees usually hasn't driven one, or seen one off road.

I would buy the V6 Petrol, I think it's a better motor to the CRD, and I'd order it in rubicon spec, as a 4 door hard top. Seriously capable car out of the box...

Of course the downside to this is, unless your Defender is twin locked, your missus will be running rings around you off road

They are a better vehicle than the Puma, very sorted these days. They are fairly reliable and reasonably put together (especially compared to a Puma), very easy to drive and comfortable. Certainly not like older Jeeps.
