gearbox/transfercase

went out 4wd yesterday all started well after afew hours the shifter for the five speed gearbox would not select the gears/crunch everytime i tried reverse. Some times it would select gears after engaging high /low transfer case eventually got it home but still hard to select gears or move it into gear.

Sounds like the clutch isn't disengaging properly. Could be a hydraulics fault. Have you checked the level in the master cylinder?

Either that or he's got broken "fingers" on the pressure plate ......
