This was provided to me by a leading Chinese nutritionist and part time heart surgeon. :D

Q: Doctor, I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true?
A: Your heart only good for so many beats, and that it...don't waste on exercise. Everything wear out eventually. Speeding up heart not make you live longer; it like saying you extend life of car by driving faster. Want to live longer? Take nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiency. What does cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So steak is nothing more than efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef also good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And pork chop can give you 100% ofrecommended daily allowance of vegetable product.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: No, not at all. Wine made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that mean they take water out of fruity bit so you get even more of goodness that way. Beer also made of grain. Bottom up!

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have body and you have fat, your ratio one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio two to one, etc.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?
A: Can't think of single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No pain...good!

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU NOT LISTENING! Food are fried these day in vegetable oil. In fact, they permeated by it. How could getting more vegetable be bad for you?!?

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?
A: Definitely not! When you exercise muscle, it get bigger. You should only be doing sit-up if you want bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy?!? HEL-LO-O!! Cocoa bean! Another vegetable! It best feel-good food around!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming good for your figure, explain whale to me..

Q: Is getting in shape important for my lifestyle?
A: Hey! 'Round' a shape!

Even Healthy people die from natural causes.

I don't eat vegetables, they grow in Dirt. That's why animals have legs, it keeps them clean.

I guess you think like, "live hard, die young and have a good looking Corpse." But I worked for a while in a Nursing home. We had one patient who was around 35-40 when he was found in the gutter at Kings Cross having had a stroke.

His ID had been stolen, so no one knows who he is and no relatives to visit him. So this poor guy who had the stroke is going to have a big hairy woman wash his private parts for him and wipe his bum, for the rest of his life, while he feels nothing and is living like a corpse, while he probably wonders why did I end up like this, unable to communicate or do anything after his stroke.

So I happily eat my Vegetables, and avoid alcohol, avoid fatty foods, that doing this will help prevent this sort of thing.

I do eat some vegetables, I like a drink and I enjoy fatty foods in moderation. I have to admit my diet is not the best around but a long way from the worst
I am 54yo and within the last four months had the full check up

Stress test on heart, liver function, prostate etc and a CT scan from neck to pelvis to check lungs and other organs, my blood pressure is a bit lower than normal which my doctor says is great, and the results all showed perfect health. I am a bit overweight which I am currently working on.

I'd rather live healthy and enjoy life than unhealthy and spend my time visiting a doctor. So my motto is - 'Learn to like what's good for you'. Really like, not just grin and bear it. Because you will tend to eat/ drink/ do the things you like, so if you learn to like what is good you're more likely to be healthy/ happy.

So I've learned to like vegies. And if you concentrate on the tastes and textures there are so many interesting tastes and textures in vegies! Especially if you don't overcook them - they need to have just a bit of crispness left in them.

Brussels sprouts, for instance. When I was young I couldn't stand them. Horrid bitter things. But one day I thought 'Well, lots of people do like these things, and they really do have lots of good things in them. I wonder what is in them that people like'. So I tried finding out the tastes in Brussels sprouts by chewing them and then letting them roll over my tongue. There is such a variety of tastes in Brussels sprouts!

Works in other areas of life to. Wine and beer is good for you - but too much isn't. So I have learned to really enjoy a beer or a red ... but also when to stop. There's lots of interesting beers and wines around, and I enjoy them ...

It makes life really interesting!

Nothing wrong with meat, either. Especially sausages. Just love sausages!

Back in the early 1970’s I hitched from Sydney to Tully, North Queensland, to see the Australian White Water Canoeing championships [at around the time Gary Nelson was the Australian Champion], and got a lift part way with a 42 year old man who had a bad stomach ulcer. That was before they found they could treat stomach ulcers with antibiotics.

He told me that other than potato chips, mashed potatoes, or pie with peas, or the vegies on a hamburger, or stake sandwich he had not eaten any fruit or vegies for over 22 years. The doctor had told him to start to eat many more non-acid fruit & vegies for his health.

When I was 15 years old, I had a bit of a crush on Kay, a certain very attractive Model/Stunt Double, who had world records in her sport, and had seen nude in a girly magazine.

I spent a lot of time down the snow between 1972 & 1978, working there in 1972 & 1974, etc. In 1973 I was interested in this girl named Wendy, and did not ski that year. That 1973 year Kay worked at that Ski Lodge where I usually worked, but I never had met her, just head everyone mention her name. Then, I think it was in 1978, I was at that ski lodge where I had worked, and heard that Kay was having a meal there. So I went to the dining room to meet her. I was about 28, and Kay was older than me at 35 years old.

When I finally met her Kay had a glass of wine in one hand a cigarette in the other hand and she looked not a day over 60 years old, though only 35 years old.

Over 12 years ago I mentioned to a 35 year old woman, who was doing a computer class that I was also doing, that “my wife is about to turn 50.” She replied “what that young thing.” See this 35 year old looked a bit older than my wife did, and I did not know her age, when I did mention my wife’s age.

A few years back I read in woman’s magazine [while waiting for my wife in our doctor’s waiting room if you are wondering] that actress Raquel Welch was now 60, but looked much younger having never had plastic surgery. Raquel said that if you want to stay looking young, do not drink or smoke, and do not eat anything that tastes good. Personally I think Mangoes, Peaches, Nectarines, Strawberries, Blue Berries Logan Berries, and a host of fruit and a host of vegies taste good.

Margaret is a vegetarian except for a little bit of sea-food. When she was 50 some ladies from her Church told her “You look good for your age, you hold your looks well. You must have good genes.” Margaret got upset wih them and told them of and said it had nothing to do with her genes, but had everything to do with her vegetarian diet, etc.

Many actresses and top models, e.g. Elle McPherson, are vegetarian in order to keep looking young.

So I happily eat fruit & vegies.

I think there's something in that for all of us....

A "stake" sandwich...no wonder he had an ulcer...all those splinters

Iv'e gone a bit the other way...rather than the flesh of the fruit, I use the skins to rub and massage into various parts of my body.....keeps the skin tight yet supple ......with the occasional apple pie .... :Rolling:

I deserved that comment being in too much of a hurry to spell check, though the spell check probably would not have picked Stake should have been "Steak".

My mother turns 90 next July. People are amazed when they find out as she only looks about 80. She grew up on a sheep farm and the dinner table would have lamb on it every day.

Bacon and eggs was the norm for breakfast cooked in lard.

Apart from a triple bypass at age 85 and a new hip about 88 she has had no other health issues.

She is still active and healthy.

Dave.
