Hi , just wondering if anyone has found suitable sound deadening solution for the rear tyre underbody wells?

My disco and rangie have plastic coverage which stops the stones making really loud sounds on gravel roads , but my new Defender makes awful sounds as the stones flick up and hit the underside of the wheel wells.

You aren't supposed to drive them off the bitumen!

Spray a couple of layers of bitumen spray under there!

Some have gone as far as to screw garden edging type plastic under there.

I think most spray on tray liner products like Rhino and Hippo etc are a 2 pak urethane spray which may be too hard for your deadening requirement. Septone (which you can get at Supercrap) make a soft bitumen based sound deadener in spray and brush application. I have found it pretty effective when put on thick using multiple coats.
