View Full Version : No Power at Start Up
Redback

This morning after starting the car, I backed out the driveway went to drive off and the car would not go, it would not go over 1500rpm for the first 100mtrs then all of a sudden it went back to normal and off we went.
This has never happened before, I have ruled out oil in the harness, as I changed that just a couple of thousands Ks ago.
So any TD5 owners had this problem, no power when cold?
Baz.

For those who may be interested.
Just checked the air flow with the Nanocom and 220 at 3000rpm sitting in the driveway, 280 in 3rd at 3200 to 3500rpm driving up the nearest hill to me (Princes Hwy) so looks like it is the MAF sensor that's the problem.
Thanks Mike (Tombie2) for the info on the Throttle sensor, that was all good according to the Nanocom.

That'll be why we couldn't get power from that map!

Mmmm could be, although I swear I checked the MAF before this around the time the first map file was uploaded and it was OK, no harm in trying the original file again after we get a new MAF I guess, we will do this Friday and let you know.
Wouldn't this Medium Defender file not work properly either, cause it's working great, heaps more power than the medium BD chip on the old ECU.
At the moment it's blowing a lot of smoke and is down a bit on power,

Yes new MAF
Go into the Nanocom and then start the car go into fueling, and scroll along until you get to Air Flow.

Sure your in the right spot, 4.4 doesn't sound right, as for the boost box, can't see that making a difference as it only affects manifold pressure.
Tombie2 might know better though.
OK going into the Nanocom, TD5 engine, go fuelling scroll to air flow, reading should be as above in my post.
All the instructions for this are on page 9 of the Nanocom user manual.
