didnt happen without pics....

head to the kitchen, Dice and fry up a little bacon and onion in a large frying pan dusting lightly with paprika when the bacon and onion starts to "sweat" but before the onion browns, Keep on a low-medium heat and stir up occasionally

While thats happening put a pot of water on the stove and chuck in some packet peas/corn and other vegies as required when the water starts to boil add a little cajun seasoning then chuck in a packet of 2 minute noodles. Boil for 3 minutes then strain.

While the noodles are boiling crack 2 eggs into a glass and whisk thoroughly, when the noodles have one minute left to go turn the heat up on the frypan and add the whisked egg, stir it through the bacon and onion as though you were making an omlette.

when most of the waters finished dripping off the noodles dump the veggies and noodles into the frypan and blend the contents of the frypan through the noodles. Remove the frypan from the heat and divide into 3 bowls.

Leave the bowls to stand for about 2 minutes which should be enough time to quickly washup the rest of the dishes used for preparing the elcheapo 8 minute fried noodle dish you're bout to enjoy.

Jason me old China, this is a milestone. You have kids, half the time you want to strangle 'em the other half you're either proud of 'em or want to strangle 'em. This is an important event. The young bloke has gone online with his own ID and who knows will have his own avatar next. These little blighters run rings around us old farts with their computer skills and reckon they know it all (they probably do). But don't give up, the one thing the little bastards don't have is experience. As adults we've stuffed up, err. experenced more than they have so can run rings around 'em. Hang on to this thought Jason (& Karen) it's all you've got. Your young bloke has become a man (now you can belt the little ***** when he gives you lip!), not really.
Seriously, congrats all especially young Banjo Junior and am looking forward to your input in this forum.

Can I have fries with mine dave?

Deano:)

sure....

make up a container of cold salt water Finely dice a lemon or add a decent squirt of lemon juice, under running water slice some potatoes into slivers (5-6mm thickness seems to work well) then place the slices into the cold iced water, put the bucket into the freezer

head to the kitchen and put a pot of oil on to heat, heat it to about 180 degrees. once the oil has heated remove the potato slices from the iced water (discard the lemon slices at this point) and fry them up in the oil for about 2-3 minutes, remove them from the hot oil and place them on a cake tray over some absorbent matting, turn the heat up under the oil to about 220 degrees.

While the oil is heating up seperate the first stage fries so that they dont stick together and allow them to cool a little, I like to dust mine with seasoning, a combination of chilli powder and chicken salt is my usual choice at this stage, using the same bowl that you put the salt water and uncooked fries into (dry it first) chuck the fries in, add the seasoning cover and shake well to distribute the seasoing.

When the oils heated up again throw the lot in and cook for a further 2-3 minutes. A lot of the seasoning will come off of the chips and should float to the surface, if your not using a fine mesh chip basket skim this off of the top of the oil with a strainer and let the oil drain out, recover the now cooked fries, drain the oil place into the bowl along with the "floaties".

Cover and turn once or twice to distribute the leftover seasoning and the "floatie" bits If youve been a little heavy handed with the chilli sour cream is an excelent addtion.

you got fries with that.

While working with hot oils in the kitchen empty or place all containers of water out of arms reach and have a large flat metal cooking tray on hand to cover the oil pot in the event of a fire. A proper fire blanket is a better option.

The lemon slices can be reduced with copious quantities of sugar and heat to make a lemon conserve that when folded with a small quantity of butter prior to refigerating makes an excellent condiment to go with toast. Its also good on pancakes or as a filling between layers of sponge cake.

My eldest, (19 going on 20) was called Microbe. She was the smallest thing that I had ever seen when she was born.

#2 Was known as Buddha (nearly 10). Obvious one for her. She was short & round, but always smiling & happy.

#3 Was, and still is, called Spook (just turned 7). This is the only one that has stuck with her, but she will only respond to me calling her that. Teachers have tried, and get ignored, but I can just about whisper it across a crowded room, and she will hear it.

And none of their nicknames have anything to do with their real names... (Kayla, Lauren & Alexis)

Fred, just wondering how and why you are bored. In this world there is so much to do and to learn I find it very hard to get bored. Start a vegie garden in the new place, and sell vegies or something. There is so much you could do to keep yourself occupied, without finding time to be bored.

Fred, do not let yourself get bored. Way too many kids get bored, and rebel against society so that they ended up in jail, and so that they then theyfind out what being really bored is about, looking at just 4 walls day in and day out till there sentence is over.

One man sat in Church listening to a very boring sermon [not my denomination]. At the end of that sermon, the preacher announced that there would be a meeting of the Church Board in the back room. So this man turned up and the preacher said, sorry this meeting is just for the Church Board. And the man replied, “I am just as bored as the rest of them.”

My advice to your dad is get you a tray back with a blown up motor and help you learn to overhaul it.

Some years ago I met an 18 year old girl who had grown up on a farm. Her dad taught all her brothers to overhaul & fix motors, weld, etc. and did not teach her. So she went to a local service station, and went to the workshop mechanic and said "I want a job, I do not mind getting dirty, you do not have to pay me, I will work for nothing, just teach me to fix cars.

Get you dad to teach you, and never worry if you break down while carrying tools.
