Distinguished Colleagues,
The Defy is in at the dealers this week (don't ask - Pumas rock:blink:) - and they kindly loaned me a car for the week - but do you think it's fair that I should have to put up with this old jalopy? :p

In our 15months of Defender ownership we have had a Volvo C30, variety of Freelanders, couple of Disco 3s and a Mitibushi something or other. With the exception of the Mitsi my wife has preferred all the others over my beloved SVX.
She's never happy returning the luxury to pick up my 'truck'. Must admit I have also enjoyed the other vehicles, but they just dont leave you with that feeling you have when you are in your Defender.

Actually, I don't know - can't find any model designation whatsoever, even the log book is gone. The rego sticker just says X-type; but I can tell you this - we're about to go out to lunch via Quilpie so I'll let you know! :D

They must like you. I got a Volvo C30 last time. The diesel sounded like a box of rocks.

Is that the Ford Mondeo version?
Yep - originally designed when Ford owned Jag back in 2000 - 01. The earlier ones where a doppleganger for the AU Falcon, particuarly in the rear-end and rear of the turret treatment as they had been both designed in the Ford "edge design" of the time :(. Also the similarities in the interior can also be seen with the rounded look of the AU and the Jag.
The X-Type is in its last year of production.

Dan I've had a word with Jag Aus for you, asking them why you didn't get the Sovereign version like mine, but they don't send that model to Aus so you'll just have to rough it :D

You have confirmed what I long suspected, I always thought the X-type AND the S-type looked very much like an AU Falcon from the rear!!;);)

Well guys - took a drive to Boonah for lunch - the Jag is nice to drive, but I don't know if it's any better than anything else more "generic". I did enjoy driving it, but I'm not sure if that was just because I knew I was driving a Jag or because of the car itself really.
I do like it - but don't think I'd buy it. Kat really likes it though, so who knows? :D

Whats with the :angel:Paul. My SVX doesn't do any where near the milage I would like it to do.
But there have been quite a few issues that it has been back to the dealer for, and then when they get the required parts, back to the dealer to be repaired.
Except for the inconvenience of having to juggle work getting there it has never been a problem to our Dealer.
Still a very happy Defender driver

No worries Paul, if I can get along with all the rest a simple emoticon is not likely to bug me for long:)
In an ideal world my vehicle would have been in that often because of mileage.
Damn work does get in the way of a lot of dreams.

So you go from a Puma to a Jaguar, which animal is superior? Did you tell them to take their time with the servicing? :D
