Just read in a local paper that 4WD Victoria are now to take over from Vic. Police bush recoveries. In an agreement between Vic Police and 4WD Victoria 000 calls from stranded 4wd drivers will now have 4wd Vic clubs sent out instead of Police, freeing up Police to concentrate on their core duties. The stranded driver will be asked to join up as a member of a 4WD Vic. club to pay for the recovery. Seems a good idea to increase membership, you think? But in this litigious society does that mean 4wd Vic clubs will now have the burden of insurance for these recoveries?

Not bad at all... but in saying that WTF would bogged people call 000 to get recovered??? :eek2:

Maybe that's why Vic4wd aren't replying to my email... too busy recovering toyos :Rolling:

I take 000 calls for a living (ambulance) and you would be surprised at what people ring 000 for.

Slight tangent but had a mate who was a paramedic for qld ambos when the new scheme came in here that all qlders were covered... before that had to be paid subscribers.

Next thing they're getting twice as many calls mostly for dickheads with cut fingers etc. too lazy to drive themselves to a GP or emergency room. And as i assume is same down there, once they'd taken on a job they couldn't't change to a priority one until they'd finished their current one. Bloody joke.

Like the stories I read in the paper a few weeks ago... Some knobs ring 000 just for the fun of it, LOTS. Some bloke's been charged cause he made something like 5000 odd prank calls to 000 in a year. Seriously, that many.
