Anyone know of a reputable place to get a quote for removing some rust from a 95 Defender in Brisbane?
I'd rather take it to someone who has experience with Defenders rather than just any old panel beater.

Gday Ryan Ive also had a little experience with rust in defenders this was my effort with the help of Dave's (incisor) welding skills.Key is in the prep work if, your handy with a grinder depending where rust is you will save yourself alot of cash.

Hope this helps and if you need any help just ask mate.

Not sure if it's the actual firewall, but it hides underneath the rubber where the front passenger's feet rest (not the floor mat, but the rubber in front of that).
I've also got some rust in the door frames, that I knew about when I bought the vehicle, that I should really should do something about.
Would it be possible for me to come up and show you what exists?
the only other issue I have is somewhere to do the work. I have no shed or undercover space at my place, so not sure how I can do this myself. I'm willing to pay some one to do it if need be, so long as I can get it done without being ripped off.

Sounds like the same place where mine was and also alot of other fenders suffer from.It would be the same place as my first photo in my link.
Would be happy to have a look and perhaps get some advice from the old fella couple of streets up from me :D:D if you decide to pop up.
I also had rust in door frames not to bad, I just cut it out with the grinder or ground it back till it was gorn.

Well, it looks like I'm in for some rust repairs. I've decided to have a crack myself, with the help of my boiler-maker father-in-aw and some advice from MacFamily (thanks Aaron!).
Given I have to remove the air-con, I was wondering whether this would give me an opportunity to try and replace the air-con fan, which is pretty dodgy.
Anyone had any experience with this?

There are two drain holes on the A/C unit and they join at a T-Piece then drain as one through the floor. I found that one of the drain hoses was blocked on mine, so even though I could see water draining under the car, the other side was dripping under the floor mat.
Make sure you clear these drain pipes, so as not to repeat the damage.

Hope you don't want it back in a hurry! And hope you don't mind if it's missing a nice roof rack :) :wasntme:
