swine sphincter I am...
here's what we've loaded onto the mechanics truck so far.
3 laptops
2 push bikes
snorkling gear
fridge
food
booze.
comfy chairs
(ok so theres a toolkit and some parts on the vehicle already but they are soley there to hide the contraban I promise)
this is a taxpayer funded holiday that I have cunningly disguised as a major exercise.
yes yes yes... there will be pics.

So do post pictures - 27 years since I was at the bare base there - really weird landing at that place with the size of the facility and no one there (except a couple of WOs). Be interested to see if it has changed much.

Dave,
Make sure you take off for a jaunt over Cape Range N.P. and do some cannoeing at Yardie Creek/ gorges. Also, the beach camping and fishing to the South of Yardie Ck on the Ningaloo Reef road to Coral Bay is one of my most favourite spots:)
Wish I was back over there sometimes:(
Enjoy:D

Hi All
Guess things have changed so much blknight :D I would have been manouvering to keep the food and booze from all the mates and aquaintances and tactics to not be the taxi for people food and booze to and from but i guess yoou dont owe anyone a drink anywhere :):D
And all the adg's i knew wouldn't know how to drink - not since guzzling was invented anyway and of course they all swore of gambling fornicating and other such pleasures of the flesh:angel::eek::o:):D
So i hope that you get to use your goodies and you have a great time and dont forget the hand lines
Regards Mark

Aaaahhhhhhhhhhhh, Exmouth..... I worked there for two years, 1964 to 1966 on the construction of the VLF station.
Good years, beaches unfished, bags of cooked prawns from Kailis for 5 bob (50cents), summer all year practically............a learning experience for a 19 year old:D:D:D
Agree with justinc, do all those things

Aaaahhhhhhhhhhhh, Exmouth.....
exactly my sentiments.
Love that place. Nothing like hooking up tiger sharks from the shore :p
Minus the filthy cashed up bogans that ruin it for everyone else :(

One of the best place I have ever visited. You must have a snorkel on Ningaloo Reef. The size of the fish there is awesome. Went out on a fishing charter on the Blue Horizon there and after the 50th emperor and coral trout was caught in the first two hours we decided to do something else - move and catch some 5 foot long spanish mackeral and tuna. Just don't fall overboard here the sharks got every second fish once they found us.
I have never seen so many turtes and sea snakes. They were everywhere.
Yardie creek is a must. You are paddling along and right next to you on the cliffs are these amazing rock wallabies. They just sit there thinking you can't see them but when they wake up the speed that they can cover the rocks is very impressive. There is a bloke there with an OKA who does tours of the hinterland and gives out some great facts on the park and the history.
Another must is sunset from the top of the lighthouse with a cold beer and some of the famous Exmouth prawns. Also catch a local AFL match when you are there the locals really play for keeps and you could hear the thumps from well back from the action.
I know you will have a good time there. You can't not have a great time in Exmouth.

We just did a tour of Margaret River down south with Neil McLeod who used to run the OKA safaris and the Ningaloo snorkel tours. If the new owner is anything like Neil, I'd be booking a seat. He was great fun and ran a great tour with plenty of interesting obscure history lessons along the way. He spoke highly of Exmouth and Ningaloo and only came back to the big smoke because of kids and grandkids.
