They are pretty ... detailed... which often is not pretty if you catch my drift.
Oh and check out the comment on the story
haha obviously she has something to hide. what makes her so different to all of us that she doesnt have to have one. the rest of the people have to. its the same rules for everyone
Good for her for standing up for her rights! I'm a Christian and we also promote modesty. Obviously repect for ones beliefs means nothing to some!
Roll out whatever means it takes to attempt to bring some sanity and sense of order to a 'new world order'. Should the curve or droop of a woman's breast be outlined or the demarcation between *** cheeks is viewed, or that of genitals, anyone would think these body parts are suddenly exposed when all anyone needs to do is go downtown & check out everyone in the street. Thank Christ we have enough food to eat, jobs to earn money and live well enough or a very generous government system that pays your way. Thank Christ we don't suffer the ravages of starvation, mutilation, disease, amputation or genetic malform. Thank Christ we are the most obese people in the world and you're worried about showing all that gross fat and body form under scann. You should hang your head in shame. I wonder- are the above respondants from the looney LEFT, "invited guests" to Australia, or the uneducated masses that Mr Rudd seems determined to drag screaming & kicking into the light of day. God help us!
Apparently celebrities(who already appear in mags and the big screen half-clothed anyway so do not have a reason for privacy) do not have to undergo these scans, I presume neither do politicians, government people, the law, etc. Perhaps then these people could be the ones to be overlooked or to be a risk? People, time to worry and take a stand. Why can't a strip search replace the scan if need be.
What about pregnant women, is it safe for the unborn child? too much exposure to radiation can cause cancer, also i think scanning children has gone too far....theres alot of sickos in this world, do we know who and where they are? What a pathetic world this has become.........
Full body scans are dangerous to health with long term effects. One scan is equivalent to many years of xray radiation, fatal for the thyroid, the scrambling of one's dna and is an extreme measure to make us all feel 'safe', they say. This is almost military.I think we are too ready to copy whatever the rest of the world does without any full thought and research into whether scans are detrimental to health etc. They could offer a full body examination or pat down instead. My health could not tolerate the body scan so I will never fly again! I think if others refused and boycotted the scans, the airlines and tourist industy of most countries would certainly feel it. Maybe we should all try that and not just sheepishly conform to what "big brother" tells us to do. What next? These scans are a start to a societ of no priveleges, no trust and no privacy. Security personell just have to be more alert, aware and smarter than the ones who would be a risk to fly.
Doesn't bother me.. If I was asked to get buck naked in front of the entire NSW NRL side so I could get on a plane then there'd be an issue.. This however is a monochrome scan that shows people's wallets, keys and other crap they carry.. It'll also show up handguns, knives and explosive devices.. If anyone seriously thinks that people sitting there viewing these images would spend their time *** over them then please pour bleach in your ears!! Your mind is incredibly dirty..
If you have nothing to hide then one should not worry about scanners. I am sure the operators are not going to worry about looking at the size of the mans old fella or a womans parts they are more worried about what you may be carrying. If Muslims dont want to be scanned then dont fly that simple. I would be happy flying knowing allsteps have been taken to make my flight as safe as possible.
Everybody should be scanned, regardless of religion! It doesn't matter whether your muslim, buddhist, hindu, christian, catholic or jewish! This is about a safety issue, not about people sitting there and perving! Kudos to the Governments for implementing this, it is long overdue! And Kudos to airline that would not allow that woman to fly! Why should she be given special treatment because she is muslim? If muslims want to visit and live in western countries, then they need to learn to integrate and Abide by our Laws!!! Not try and change our country to suit them! If you don't want to abide by our laws then leave! What will be next? Making a law that western women are to cover everything up so it doesn't offend muslims? At the end of the day, if the western laws offend muslims so much, then put all the muslims on one.plane with a one way ticket and send them back to their country!
From news reports it is clear that the way the whole thing is set up in overseas airports is unnecessarily degrading (men viewing women and vice versa), and completely against our traditional Australian culture. Why do we have separated men's and women's changing rooms, and laws against upskirting photography, public nudity, etc.? It is because we are civilised. Perhaps we have here another example of the anti-Christian establishment seeking to overthrow what remains of our godly heritage in the West.
Methinks JohnF might have beaten us to it !

Perhaps we should have a whole bunch of Norrie May Welby*s doing the scanning.

My understanding is that a computer does the initial scan and this not not viewed by the operator. It is only if the computer thinks there is something suss that the operator then views the image.

So Muslims won't do it and Christians won't do it, but if the Muslims blew up the plane, is it then the Christians fault for agreeing with the Muslims in not doing it in the first place????
Fact is, most wars or conflicts are based on religious scraps and differences.
Me, religion is a load of self righteous bollocks and no single one can prove they are right or bring forth their "god".
I have seen my family ripped apart by do gooder bible bashers professing that if I don't repent then I'm going to hell!!! Ironically all the bad **** happens to them!
Anyhoo, you want to fly, take the scan or use two feet and a heartbeat to get you there.
Everyone is in the same boat or in this case, plane and religion plays no part in travel or security. If you don't like it, too bad!
I for one am not going to have my travel hedged on the blind beliefs that god is watching and talin care of me while some psycho is preparing his detonator because the god fearing ayes had it on the security measures
Cheers

Heathrow worker warned over body scanner misuse
A Heathrow Airport security guard was given a police warning after he was allegedly caught staring at images of a female colleague in a body scanner.
The 25-year-old worker was quizzed by police over alleged remarks he made to his co-worker after she entered a scanner by mistake.
The incident took place at Terminal 5 on 10 March.
It is believed to be the first time an airport worker has been disciplined for abusing a body scanner.
The scanners show clear outlines of passengers' anatomies.
They were introduced at Heathrow and Manchester airports to check for concealed weapons and explosives following the failed Christmas Day bomb plot by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab to blow up a jet over Detroit in the United States.
'Appropriate training'
Director of Legal Enforcement and the Equality and Human Rights Commission, Susie Uppal, said the incident highlighted the risks to "privacy and respect for human dignity" that are posed by the use of full body scanners.
She said: "It is only through appropriate training and monitoring that we can ensure that the risk of breaches of discrimination and human rights laws by those who take and use the scanned images of passengers are minimised.
"The government has told us very little about what systems are currently in place to ensure that those employed to use the scanners are acting lawfully, with fairness and without discriminating."
She added that the government needed to take urgent and decisive action to ensure that "incidents of this kind are not repeated".
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "Police received an allegation regarding an incident that happened at Heathrow Terminal 5 on March 10.
"A first instance harassment warning has been issued to a 25-year-old male."

The TV news last night used the image of a female going through a scanner as their visual for this story. Strange that the web news uses the image of a male for the same story?
