Hello all, help required.
My wife is learning to drive (don't ask her age!) and we are dumping the 1994 Disco TDi in favour of a more refined auto. Obviously I'm keen to keep it in the Land Rover stable so was tossing up between a 2001 Freelander and a late 1990's Rangie. What do you reckon? The car would mainly be used for short trips around town, but with 2 or 3 big trips a year into the great beyond. We've got two kids (6 months and 2 years).

Thank you in advance of the advice I know you guys will so graciously provide.

If you are after a freelander, buy a diesel don't go near a petrol. Petrols are nothing but problems diesels are bomb proof

Also if you get an auto make sure it has a good service history as the auto can be troublesome if it has not been looked after.

Otherwise, a TD4 diesel auto is the pick and very reliable.
