Hi guy's. My dads TD5 auto has a habbit of starting and idling and then won't respond to the accelerator at all. Pushing the pedal does nothing. I have changed the autobox oil and changed the filter. Engine oil and full service as well. Sometimes if you reselect par, then back into drive it will work, sometimes he rolls it down the drive a little then it goes. My disco did it a couple then after a full service it went away. My nanocom shows no faults in either the ECM or the EAT ECU. I am beggining to think that it is the selector switch on the seft side of the box but I cant see how that would interupt of block the signal from the throttle.
Anybody have any idea's. Any help would be appreciated?
Cheers
Chris

PS,I should have mentioned.
The number one fault causing issues like this is "oil in the harness"
Remove the ECU,its next to the jack under the bonnet.Unclip the orange connector, any oil leaking from there???
Only Landrover can build a computer that leaks oil:D:D:D:D.
Have a look and let us know.

Throttle position sensor or the connector to it.

Hi Wom954, could it be the Accelerator peddel as they are electric not a cable, when they play up they kill the signal to the computer, tells it theres no fuel.
