Fuel pressure gauge

Has anyone fitted a fuel pressure gauge as a permanent fixture to the lines of a TD5. I am thinking about doing this as a failing fuel pump is one of those unknowns which can realy be difficult to diagnose. Tucked in under the bonnet would be fine.

I have heard of a fuel pressure gauge being used in a mechanics workshop as test equipment for such purposes.

Any info would be most welcome.
