I have plans to use Anderson plugs for fridge, lighting etc for camping. I'll probably therefore change the plugs on the leads of my lights and so on to Anderson plugs - but in case I want touse my lights in another vehicle which only has cigarette plugs, I would like (if possible) to have an adapter made up.

I envisage one end a female anderson plug, with the other end of the cable a male cig lighter plug (ideally the type which fits cig lighters and merit plugs)

Thoughts ?

No problems, just make it up.....

BUT....
Don't try sucking fridge power (or air compressor) through most Std. cig lighters....you'll just blow the fuse - if it has one ;-)

I've got battery clips to (50A) anderson,
battery clips to cig lighter,
(50A) anderson to cig lighter (female) socket.

never know when you'll need the portability to run your gear from another vehicle.

Hi Vlad, why not use Anderson PowerPoles.

The small version of these are much smaller than the standard Anderson plugs but they come with either 15, 30 or 45 amp terminals and the different size terminals fit the same plugs.

Plus you can have 45 amp terminals in one set of plugs ( 1 x red and 1 x black ) and 15 amp terminals in another set and they will still plug together.

So you could have a set of plugs with 45 amp terminals on the main lead from your battery and any size in any other set.

Andersons are genderless (hermaphrodite) connectors, so you don't need to worry about their gender.
I use them for all our 12 and 24 volt gear at work, the hermaphrodite feature means you only need to make about half the adapter leads you normally have to!

The following page will give you some ideas:

Do you mean Merit/DIN plugs? They were mentioned in a post earlier today. I like these plugs, they haven't given me any problems. You can also get dual use plugs which fit cig lighters, and DIN sockets by removing an adaptor ring.
Narva part number 82108BL and 82110BL for one with a green status LED.

You can use the fridge in other cars and use other peoples fridges in your car and use the 50 amp anderson plug on your own fridge for minium voltage drop.
