We had a great time swapping stories and checking out each others vehicles at Daves BBQ a few saturdays back the day seemed to go so quickly. So I got too thinking about a P38 weekend trip, perhaps a fishing/drinkies weekend away? I'm thinking maybe a trip uptoo my "secret" fishing hole on the Murray near Echuca that way any of the lads around that way or in NSW could join us. Anyone keen too throw some ideas around about a trip destination, I'm not fussed where we go really just keen too get out.

Sounds good to me. I'm not much of a fisher-person, but I try to practice the drinking bit regularly ;)

Keep us informed of proposed dates and I'll do my best to be there.

Cheers, Paul.

Only prob I may have is Mrs is going O/S for work in near future for couple of weeks so will need to look after my little mob (should be over by time this is planned and sorted but).

Is any decent off roading on agenda? Should I pull out the big rubber?

Would we be exclusively p38's? Sparky cousin Ray might want to come along with his 80 series - which could be something nice to throw rocks at anyway!

Ray's 80 Series is huge! Makes my lifted P38A look like a low rider ;) Just don't tell him he's coming along as the recovery vehicle... :D

I am OS in June but if it happens before then count me in. The idea of closer to the NSW border appeals to me.
Cheers,
Remy

Any more plans for 'the outing' formulated yet Paul? I can here the pig out in the car port calling for mud!!! :p

I have bought the half dozen $3 cans of flat black 'fiddly bits' spray paint to turn my off road wheels black for the event!!! A nice p*ss take on all the cruiser and patrol black wheelers out there!

Hopefully my build number 000001 HRA 50mm lift kit comes before then so I can see how high I can stretch the new OEM shocks!!! May have to get a couple of muddies too! :D

A "Calamity" of Range Rovers :)

I do like that one!

Alternatives (from genuine collective nouns):

A rabble of butterflies Range Rovers
A charm of finches Range Rovers
A stand of flamingoes Range Rovers (may only make sense to railway people :) )
A troubling of goldfish Range Rovers
A bloat of hippopotamuses Range Rovers
A vagary of impediments Range Rovers
An exaltation of larks Range Rovers
An abomination of monks Range Rovers
A parliament of owls Range Rovers
A pandemonium of parrots Range Rovers
An ostentation of peacocks Range Rovers
A pomp of Pekingese Range Rovers
An implausibility of platypi Range Rovers
A turmoil of porpoises Range Rovers

Well I was hoping we had more trip destinations put forward as my fishing/drinkies spot really doesn't offer much in the way of 4wd'ing.

Sorry... have zero knowledge of that area mate. Usual spots we go are in/around Alpine National Park. Beautiful country that too

Just picked up this one - pretty keen here too!

Got the first baby arriving early July so might have the brakes on a bit depending on dates and travel distance.

What's the plan?!

Hi Boys, I Just found this thread.

If you are keen on going a bit more north...there are some decent spots around the New England area for Fishing and 4WDing.

In the trip reports section you can see a bit of scenery from the Styx River state forest, myself and a few guys from the forum have had a couple of trips down there.

Warmer weather brings Wild river Bass to the Styx, Trout are there all year round.

Slightly westward, i have a magic spot for Murray Cod, though its a bit of a walk in.

And then there is Coffs Harbour area, the boys down there just posted a trip report, some awesome tracks, current edition of 4X4 action has a report on 1-2 night trip with Fishing/beach side camping etc that is almost the exact area as the recent trip report.

Anyway, just a few ideas:D

The Good looking one was released to fight another day:p
