Hi folks, is there any trick to pairing a mobile phone to a D4.
My old Nokia works with the D4 but a new Nokia and two new Sony Ericsson phones just don’t work.
I had no trouble pairing the same phones to my RR but no matter how many times I have tried, they just won’t pair to the D4.
Any ideas?

I had the same problem with my palm treo. The D4 screen just kept saying no phone found although the the Palm Treo had found the D4. But as soon as I got out of the D4 phone pairing screen (i think i went to the radio) with the Palm treo still in pairing mode, the 2 paired. Maybe I fluked it but all has been great since then. One of the best quality in car Bluetooth devices I have ever used.

Thanks Brad, just tried what you suggested and both phones are now paired up and took just a few seconds.
Cheers and thanks again.

I'm about to get a late model D3. Anyone had experience paring mobiles to these? Are mobile choices limited? How easy is it to pair.....obviously I will be checking the owners manual for many things when I get it, so this will be one of the jobs to do/learn. Going from the info obtained from this forum, there is a lot to learn and enjoy on the vehicles.

Hedley,
Just make sure the vehicle does have bluetooth as the D3 it did not come standard.
Easy way to tell if it does is that you have an answer/cancel (red & green) button on the right hand side of the steering wheel.
The phone button on the stereo does NOT mean you have a phone. It is a generic button on all ALL stereo's.

If you require a factory bluetooth for an earlier model, let me know i know someone who may have one.

Cheers

Hey mate if the OP isn't interested then please let me know... I may be interested. Didn't know about those buttons (got the D3 last week) so that is a great tip for new players... like me.
Trying to resolve this phone connectivity option soon. Mate's BMW X5 makes the D3 look like a Series 1 when it comes to phone interfacing. :(
Cheers.

Hi Sniegy,
Is this an option that can readily be retrofitted? Available from the stealer? I'm interested for my newly acquired 2005 D3 HSE TDV6.

Yes Owl, Dealer option to fit, BUT does not allow full functionality as if factory fit.
ie: factory fit allows dialing from Nav screen if fitted, this wont allow this.
It is basically a bluetooth function.

You can store up to 12 names from memory in the voice section to allow easy dialing.
Pull & hold the green button & say "dial name", "name please", "Chris" & it will dial Chris' number for you.
