There's a reason this forum isn't populated with FL2 problems, we're all out enjoying them, they're over 4 years old now and there seems to be no real issues popping up. Check out Freel2.com (http://www.freel2.com) as well.

I have a 2009 SE TD4. Brilliant car. Far better than any other on the road and just as good off. Test drive the competition and decide for yourself. Sydney dealers will offer better prices (or maybe Melbourne, as fellow owner also got a great price there - basically not Qld or SA).

What Jono said X 2. Go for the TD4.
Tried out the Freelander 2 TD4 in front of our 17' van (about 1600kg) up to Bright, N.E.Vic. Went up the back way (Bonnie Doon etc) the week before Easter, left the van there came back to Melb. then up again Easter weekend and towed it back Sunday. Avg 10.6 overall....13.8 with van on. It towed beautifully (much better than the D2 V8!!!) Being my first diesel I was concerned about overtaking in the 80-110 range but it was fantastic. Gear changes in the 6 speed auto are very unobtrusive and it cruised up any hills holding 100kph without effort.

We have a 2010MY FL2 SE TD4 auto. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. Did I say it was BRILLIANT?? :D Awesome drive, comfort, economy, performance, looks, equipment, handling, off-road ability included. And you wont see too many of them, unfortunately. Or thats good if you want something exclusive. But if you go road testing 'the others' remember you need to look at the likes of the BMW X3 and Audi Q5. Be warned though, once you own one there will be no amount of Panadol and lying down to get you over it!! lol :p

I had a FL2, great car. It was the best car i owned. I would suggest (if you can afford it) to go the HSE. You get a lot more bits. EG. Bi -Xenon and memory seating and better leather.

Ever way you wont be sorry you bought a FL2. Its a absolute pleasure to drive and i would buy my wife one in the next couple of years.

I agree with the raves below. My 08 td4 is easily the best car I have owned. Fantastic drive on and off road. 63000 kms so far. Mike

Hi, I want to buy a Freelander 2 TD4 SE this month but wanted to know if there was any real differences between a MY09 and MY10 model?

Any experienced advise on the purchase will be welcome.

Mark.

Our MY10 TD4 SE Santorini Black with Storm Napoli Leather / Ebony interior should be delivered second week of July, looking forward to driving it. The Style pack being offered in AU is a bit of a minus for me, the spoiler is exactly that, Matrix Metal facia finisher is https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2010/06/1845.jpg and I'd rather 17" than 19" wheels but the dealer said I would have to wait until late August for a special order to get something without this pack, expect it's better to get a special set of steel wheels/tires if we do get off sealed roads frequently https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2010/06/1846.jpg
