Hi guys,

Some of the bolts in my door hinges are starting to rust, so I'm keen to replace them before they get too bad. Anyone got any suggestions as to what's best to use? I assume if I replace them with the same bolts that are currently used, they'll probably just start rusting again.

I've found some stainless steel bolt kits for sale online, but they're pretty expensive, and I'm not sure that they'd be the best to use anyway, with regards to stopping rust.

Interested in what other people have done in this situation.

Cheers
Sean

I got a set of stainless steel bolts from Mudstuff - been very happy them and they look better too!.

Thanks Nathan, they look pretty good.

I have read in other threads about stainless bolts not stopping rust issues, just transferring the problem - so instead of the bolt rusting, the door or door frame rusts/corrodes.

Anyone experienced this happening?

Me,

There are a few different sizes. Took a couple off and then replaced with SS.

Quite easy just take your time and do a few trips to the shop with bolts. I used Nylocks with mine.
