Was trying to work out why the smoke was huffing out towards the camers... from reading the comments it seems they had the manifold disconnected, I presume both inlet and outlet manifold, such that exhaust ports venting sideways with inlet ports right beside them.
Speculation but if there was unburnt fuel / oil coming out the exhaust then it would be sucked in the inlets and maybe have contributed to the grenading.
Seems a funny way to test a newly rebuilt engine not having the turbo / exhaust installed? Who knows... certainly one way to keep the mozzies away!!

Looks a bit suss. about 5 seconds in you can see a big container of oil on the wing. I suspect someone was trying something dumb... perhaps to get a cool vid on youtube?

Just the description of what they were doing and seeing that big pot of oil makes me think its not genuine.
