well guys were do i start. changed the clutch in the discovery and then the slave cyclinder went. drove the car home next morning it wont start. in the afternoon after playing around and cranking it a bit it started and idled well. when to drive down the road got 3 doors and it coughed and stopped. attempted to restart and it did idle well, when more power was needed it died and wont restart.

i have put a nanocom on it and it came up with a couple of faults, crank angle noisey. and injector 5 open.

now i have replaced the crank angle and still no luck. the fuel pump can be heard quite loud when you stand next to the car.

any thoughts? is there a way to test the pump?

Could have burst its pressure hose inside the tank. Look for fuel pressure, loosen a screwed pipejoint carefully if there is one. Otherwise pull out the pump assembly and have a look. It isn't very hard, under the cargo area carpet is a hatch.

I have never heard my fuel pump running so if it's loud it can't be good.
If you have a V8 there is a connection point where you can fit a pressure gauge - just before the fuel rail near the top of the firewall on the drivers side from memory. I can't remember what the pressure is supposed to be. I'm sure others will though.
Good luck.

can a blocked filter stop a td5?
