So has someone changed the default settings on the forum?
I have always just accepted the default number of posts per page. It used to be 30. It is obviously more than that now.
I am not worried or inconvenienced by it. I'm just curious.

I think I prefer it too.
I know I could have changed the setting myself, but never bothered.
Anyone who doesn't like it this way can change their own setting back again. :p

It is good,, but its a hassle on a slow comp,, :( I haven't been on the iphone yet,, but it could create a useage issue with that for some people,,
Might just have to give myself an upgrade for both,, :)

When is it a problem on a slow machine? When you scroll down?
It doesn't seem to be a problem on my 1.7GHz Pentium 4 with 512 Mb RAM. Are people using slower machines than that? Or is the reason I don't have a problem because I am running Xubuntu and either Firefox or Chrome?

When I load a page, say "New Posts", check out a thread, and then go back to the NP thread, it takes a while to reload,, Once loaded, scrollings a breeze,,
As for "slow",,, my comps quite old (but capable),, no where near as big and fast as yours,, and I also run wireless broadband, (which I hate because the signal strength varies lots) so this doesn't help either I suppose,, :(
I've tried to change my settings twice now, but cant seem to get that to take effect,, dont know if I'm doing something wrong there or not,,
And for the iphone,, it'll depend a lot on what plans people are running, and as to how much their allowed to download per month/day whatever,,
Like I said,,, gives me an excuse to update,, :D ,, gottta keep up with whats going on in our community,,:D

vnx - Whats a Xubuntu ?
It is one of these.
What is Xubuntu? | Xubuntu (http://www.xubuntu.org/about)
It used to be believed that it was better for older machines than Ubuntu, but it seems that is no longer the case and that Lubuntu may be much better.
I will probably find out at the end of the month when the final version of Lubuntu 10.4 is released. The Beta version I have trialled look promising.
