door lock actuaters-lhd & rhd???

I've been looking at door lock actuaters on :twisted:-bay and have noticed that some sellers say they are for RHD/right hand drive or LHD/left hand drive. Why is this so? They are a lot cheaper to buy in the US but being LHD, are they not usable on our RHD's?

Driver's door actuators generally have extra wires/contacts so that key operation of the drivers door opens the other doors. Passenger side actuators mostly don't.:)
