After fitting a pair of rock sliders to my d2 i now have the ace light coming on (amber) the plug is not a very good fit, i think the mounting of the right hand side slider is affecting the accelerometer on the body rail. I was told i may have to reset the calibration of that accelerometer with nanocom, does anyone have a nanocom and the knowhow to help me out. D2 v8 manual.

Thanks,
Jason.

i don't know about this in a d2,
forgive me jason,
but i don't know how the sliders could affect the g meter thing [to hard to spell axcele etc.]
the sliders shouldn't change any of the car's systems, unless the installation has disturbed them.
like hammering or something.

Hi Jason,

A few of us have them, including me.

I would be happy to have a look but dont know what settings are there for that.

I agree with Harry though. I can't see why it would affect it.

I must have fitted at least 8 Disco's with sliders that have ACE. Never had a problem with the connectors etc. Depending on how you fitted them though I suppose

Well i did have to use the hammer as the sliders where scraping on the bottom of the doors, so i gave them a good hit so the doors would clear them, nothing has hit the sensors but maybe the vibration has disturbed them. What should i do?

Thanks,
Jason.

I've fitted sliders to an ACE fitted car too and it has not effected the system one bit. As long as you haven't moved the accelerometer then it shouldn't be a problem.

I have a pair of Hendriks sliders that where on dave's D1 (busman). The mount on the front of the slider is about 5mm away from the accelerometer. I asked the question in the tech forum and someone said i may have to recalibrate that accelerometer with a nanocom.

Jason,
I honestly cannot see why you'd need to do that. I have fitted the same set of sliders to a guy in Carboolture's car about 2 months ago and it had no effect on the ace system. The weight of the sliders shouldn't effect it either, as they are not that heavy. What is the system doing, has a fault come up?

Dont get me wrong Hendrik, its not the sliders, there fantastic, as i said they where rubbing on the bottom of my doors so i took to them with my persuader (hammer) to give my doors a couple of mm clearance, as the front mount is about 5mm away from the accelerometer i think the vibration has knocked it about. And yes the fault light is coming on amber
