Hello Yuval,
I like your Land-Rover and welcome to the forum.

The chassis number should be stamped on the left-hand engine mount.

You might like to vist this forum Land Rover Series One Club - Index (http://www.lrsoc.com/forum/index.php?action=forum#c6) as well, which deals only with Series Ones and has a lot of people on it who know a lot more than I do,

Cheers Charlie

Nice car! Welcome to the forum.
If you join the Series One Club in the UK they can provide ID plates:

"Chassis plates - available to members only - only supplied stamped.
Paper copy of V5 must be forwarded (e-mail submission not acceptable).
Vehicle Number stamped on plate at no extra charge." I am sure that you could explain the reason you need a replacement plate.

Look in the CLUB SHOP area on their website - the one you need is probably the anodised aluminiun plate rather than the brass plate (depends on vehicle number) They have both - range from 7 pounds to 9 pounds.
