I did mine on my previous D3, took me about 16 hours but I didn't rush as I hadn't done one before and time was omn my side.
Not a hard job but you need to be methodical and follow the GTR instructions closely. Worst problem was the removal and replacement of the starter motor.
There are a few pics in my gallery, if you want a copy of instructions PM me.

My D3 went to a reputable dealer for its 96,000 km service and the cost did not include a timing belt change nor was there mention of it. Also the LR D3 Maintenance Check List (PM me for a PDF) lists the belt as being changed at 168,000 km (an 'A' service). Ancilliary belt also gets done at the same time.

Stig, the GTR Discovery 3 (All Models Rest of World) Maintenance Check Sheet clearly shows to renew the camshaft timing belts, tensioners an tensioner bolt (Diesel) at 168,000km as part of an A service.

Thanks guys mine is being done at 168,000Km as part of the A service
the reason I asked for how long it should take is that the dealer could not get
it done in one day as it is only the second one they have done, I want to make sure
I am not over charged for labour.

Bigmac,
It is a timed service @ 168K Km's, regardless of how long they take they can only charge book time. Normally 2 day turn around.

Cheers

Might have had a few other bits looked at but that was the price for mine a few weeks ago. (Thanks Greg)

Droped off early and ready later the following afternoon.
