Check it out, who would have thought that something good can come out of a VN commode.

A pair of head rests and plastic tube inserts from a VN. Stripped the seat frames and miged in a mob of 20 mil steel tubes (heavy walled tent pole) in to the top rail. Punched out holes in the vinyl / foam and put it all back to gether. Ive also lifted the seat hight 45mil and added more tilt to the backrests, the boys are almost as comfortable as in the discos back seat.

Almost as slick as the back bench in the Puma Al ! , but still wash and wear.

Looks great, loads cheaper than a puma...

Got the fuel tank cut out yesterday, replaced the screws in the tail lights with ones the fit, and fitted some security bolts to the number plates.

I pick up the bent tube this week and should have the side steps on this weekend.

has anyone seen a two seat conversion in order that the middle seat is for a fridge, in the rear of a 130.
utilising defender front seats is there a requirement for a bleedin' engineers certificate ??

That would be very helpful !!!
You could probably do it more easily just using two of the rear single seats (as already fitted x 1)

Yes you'd need an engineering certificate.

You've done a great job, but I'm more interested in converting the double seat in rear into a single so I have 2 singles. Finding a single rear seat is a bugger though.

Finding a single rear seat is a bugger though. there's a South African blog somewhere which details a guy putting his 110s front seats in the back and disco seats in the front. Will have s hunt.

I cut and shut the larger drivers side seat down to match the narrower passenger seat width - it involved stripping the seat back, cutting and re-welding the frame, cutting the foam back and cutting and re sewing the cover.
I have a home made center console between the rear seats.

I will take some photos tonight when I get home.

I love the idea of headrests - I can see another trip to U pull it........

A visit to the wreckers this morning landed me two headrests...but I could only find two good ones in black so will try to vinyl paint them at a later stage...or might just leave them black.

A lot of hours later.....and one side is finished.

Hey Vlad, send JustinC a message, he put 2 disco seats in the back of his county 110. I don't think it would be any different in the 130 apart from maybe not being able to recline the thicker seats back?

Sorry Ranga!!! I was under the pump time wise!

Pretty simple to carefully unstitch the vinyl and peel bad enough so i could cut and weld in some tube to the top of the seat frame, then stitch back...by hand - which took a while!

I could not the RA rodeo seat head rests unfortunately....so these are a little smaller in height but work perfectly my sons.
