Ok, for some stupid reason, I have this idea in getting a 2A diesel ute, sorta just to have old school, as now with the 120" becoming my 4wd I need a ute for.....well, ute duties,

A dude has sold me a petrol 2.25 2A for a hundred beer tickets, it looks VERY original and unmolestered, everything looks to be in place, just that its completely and utterly rooted with rust:D Pics when I get around to picking it up, so its a great donour, now I just need to source a diesel engine and good ute body and chassis

Anyhow, not being a series knowledgeable person, anyone care to weigh in with opinions on what to use, keep in mind, It'll be pretty much stock as they come and just used to putt around with large loads in the back

Oh and if anyone knows of a diesel series in gippsland, let me know:)

I honestly think that for the good ones you have to head inland well away from the coast. Hopefully there will be a lot less rust. I picked up the 6 cyl one from Willowtree near Tamworth and it is the cleanest series that I've ever seen that hasn't had any work done to it.

I think that IIa's were the best of the lot too.

Is it an 88 or a 109?

Are you looking for an 88 or a 109?

Yea, I'd travel happily for one, would make for a fun roadtrip home:)

I'd be interested in the petroleum engine.

I'm not, but I would be.

Hi Matt,

Sounds like a great idea for a farm hack.

I will be selling the 2.25D, box and t-case from mine if you are interested.

It's just a shame that Japan can't make a slow diesel.
