This is one of the Iroquois we gave to PNG. The door numbers had to be painted over.

I was the front seat passenger in this Beechcraft Musketeer which unfortunately ran out of oomph! on take off. Flinders Island Kilecrankie landing strip early '70's.

Strangely enough there was no time to be scared, it all hapened so quickly. But afterwards I had the shakes for a while. The funny thing was that a farmer came up on his tractor, said he'd heard the 'bang' from where he was ploughing several Km's away. I had no sensation of loud noises at all.
The quality of the original I have is quite poor and it is printed on very light weight paper. Could probably fix the tear mark but overall the information isn't there. The same (I think) picture appears in the book 'Islands of Bass Strait'. Copying that would probably be the way to get a better result.
Was involved in another 'incident' several years later in a Cessna (VH-AJF) that was far more frightening although less damage to the aeroplane, VH-TYS was a write off. The difference was that it was more protracted time wise; gave you much more time to be scared.
