Well were back.
Was great to finally get away and see if all the work to Torqit and the trailer actually works. Other than my kitchen unit not being delivered in time all went well.
Harry and myself arrived at the park around 1.30 and set up camp. Noz and Trav then Bullets drifted in through the afternoon.
Phillipe and Eve got in late due to Cunninghams gap being closed.
Got stuck into a good fire etc and settled down for the night.
We set off the next morning and got stuck straight into a good rock ledge climb. We got everyone up except NOZ. We tried a few times but to no avail. We then discovered the problem to the RRC not performing for NOZ. The rotten viscous coupling transfercase was failing under load and transfering all drive to the unloaded axle.;) IN this case trying to climb a steep ledge in front wheel drive basically. To NOZ's credit he got it up the ledge with some willowbank wheelspin:D. (much to the kids delight)
We headed off and tried a few more tracks but the transfercase was just not going to play so poor NOZ retired back to camp.
Phillipe myself and Trav had a crack at a great gully run. Phillipe unearthed a rock around a metre in diameter and jammed it under his transfercase to the point it was lifting the motor so the fan would hit the cowling. We managed the build up the track enough to get phillipe going and discovered a couple of new species in the hole he left:D.
I managed to christen the rear bar and Trav did some in flight panel beating;) but we all got through to the end. Top job guys.
Bullets headed off at lunch to meet up with some mates at Levuka.
Harry, Phillipe myself and Trav then headed off to tackle some more tracks over near Suzi canyon. We found and drove all grades of tracks including a great little creek crossing. We ended up doing Suzi Canyon which is a bit harder these days. Harry opted out for this as his back was knackered and his power steer was in about the same condition.
Back to camp for the fire wood hunt, when on our return Phillipe blew a rear brake line. Bugger, but in saying Bugger a Hilux wreck provide the required parts for Harry and Phillipe to fix the problem the next morning.
A short drive that morning for harry, myself and Trav to explore the river and surrounding tracks. Then back to camp to pack up and bid the park farewell.
Other than my intercooler scoop becoming an isuzu massaging victim it was a great trip with great people. Even though only 6 vehicles we had a ball.
As usual great people and company makes a great trip.
Before you ask Eve should have some photos so be patient

Yes thanks again to all, especially Stikman for the recovery (I owe you one) and to everyone else that help figure out the Rangies issue.
Between Justin and Trav I dont think anything could not have been sorted out on any Rangie. I am considering changing my user name from NOZ to NOD as that all I was doing around the camp fire as Justin and Trav discussed Rangies. I could only NOD as I didnt have a clue what they were saying ( I have a lot to learn :D).
Now for a new tranfer and airbags.

thanks all for coming down and having a great time.
with noz out for the arvo, and bullets having left for levuka, it was down to four of us to conquer the variety of tracks, with some great tracks, only a couple of recoveries, one log winched off a track, until my winch failed due flat battery,
suzy canyon was fun for all except me as i decided to back out and picked the others up at the way out and we did most of the extreme tracks with little damage, although i didn't do the creek run, that creek did claim some panels and bars.
good trip, good company, thanks again.

Thanks to all for a great weekend, even if eventful  started with a late departure friday and then a two hour detour when Cunninghams Gap was closed leading to a very long trip down :( but the welcoming faces, roaring fire and good mates makes it all go away.
Everyone drove well with some good tracks tackled, was a shame Noz was let down by mechanical restraints but its all in the fun of a new car, working out what needs to be tweaked.
Nope Noz, can't see what the problem may be :D

As you can see from that first shot, when your guiding someone up a ledge like that with a bit of wheelspin on board you cover the essentials.;) Hey it was a cool morning I only needed half my hand:(

Justin - I do recall someone saying "I love the smell of burning rubber in the morning" that pic says it all!!
Thanks guys for a ripper trip - as usual great company & an absolute pleasure being associated with this club.
Meet up with guys at Lavuka (in the dry) Saturday afternoon/Sunday and all I can say is - what a debacle - no convoy etiquette, no recovery gear on their part, drinking the whole time while 4WDing, no rated recovery points fitted....
Makes you appreciate the club ethos & it's people.
Cheers guys

Yep, that was a bloody good weekend. Good sized group and we tackled some pretty nasty tracks in the process. The bullets initiation on a GCLRO trip has been done and dusted and passed with flying colours although did claim some panel touch-ups going through the gully run, but were able to repair some of it back at camp (thanks Bullets for the loan of a big arse hammer and some wood to try and knock the dent out of my bonnet). This is why I don't buy expensive Rangies, too busy trying to rearrange the panelwork :twisted:
The only sour note about Rover park now is the bloody motorbikes. I don't generally have problem with them myself (I used to ride them when I was younger too) it's the constant revving of the damn things that ****s me and the tooling around the campsite although Hans (the owner) gave one group an earful for doing this exact thing :mad::mad:
Good to see NOZ' Rangie in the flesh, read the buildup on it in 4WD action when they owned it and it's a bloody tidy looking Rangie too :D Just have to **** that BW transfer case off and you'll be set
Okay, so onto Levuka in a few weeks. Something a bit closer to home.

Top stuff guys!
Looks like you all had a ripper time, spewin to hear about the BW tcase being so crap! I found it needed a lot drive through the brakes to keep it goin and also was hopeless at getting the rear wheels moving if bounded up or from a stopped position. Once I had them spinning thou I never had a drama.
Advice to NOZ - Get a LT230, I finally got mine in and headed out to scenic rim yesterday for a play in the creek and lets just say, after all my years wheelin on the viscous tcase, the change was fantastic!
Advice to everyone else.... MORE PICS :D
